Jamison and Patty’s love story began just a hallway apart, as neighbors in a downtown Boise apartment building. Prior to signing their leases, they had no idea that fate (and a meddling mom) was about to bring them together.

The story really began on Thanksgiving in 2021. Patty’s mom, Cheryl, was visiting, and the two were getting ready to take the dogs, Violet and Molly, on a little stroll. As Cheryl lingered in the hallway waiting for Patty, she spotted the handsome neighbor next door loading up his fly fishing gear (one of Jamison’s favorite hobbies). Never one to miss an opportunity, Cheryl struck up a conversation about all the fishing trips she used to take with Patty’s dad, Bill. Before Patty knew it, her mom was practically Jamison’s fishing assistant, helping him haul his gear all the way down to the garage. Patty, slightly mortified, thought, Really, Mom?

But Cheryl clearly knew what she was doing. When Patty and Cheryl returned from their walk, there was a handwritten note from Jamison waiting at her door requesting a coffee date.

That coffee date never happened… but trivia night at a brewery did. And from that night on, everything clicked. One neighborly hello had turned into a lifetime of laughter, adventures, and love.

Fast-forward to today, and Jamison and Patty have built an adventurous life together: teeing off on the golf course, casting lines on fishing trips, traveling to new places, hiking scenic trails, hitting the slopes skiing and snowboarding, and savoring simple joys like coffee talks and morning walks with Violet.
